This is a list of bossaball activities in South East Asia during July and August 2008, organized by bossaball Singapore.

July :

12 : Oops! Hook’d! Beach Festival in Café del Mar - Siloso Beach - Sentosa Island - Singapore

Café del Mar is a chain of “sunset bars” originating from Ibiza, known best as a record label for its ambient / lounge / easy listening / dance music compilation album releases, containing tracks intended to induce a “sunset mood” experience.

The festival is organized by Oops! Magazine, a publication by the Language and Communication Department of Singapore Polytechnic, School of Communication, Arts and Social Sciences (CASS).

Nice bossaball Singapore promo video on YouTube with images shot in May 2008.

Looks like the local demo team, although still pretty young, is coming up to speed.

As you can see, the ball control foot skills  of some of these South East Asian bossaball players are developing in a pretty unique way. The style is closely related to “Sepak Takraw“, which is a century-old local kick volleyball tradition. This makes their kick approach different from European and Brazilian soccer and juggling related bossaball styles.

We are really looking forward to see this style advance and develop into a special local flavour.

Bossaball Singapore is starting a series of “Introduction to Bossaball” clinics throughout 2008, named Get Into It!

Get Into It! introduces the basics of bossaball to the participants.
Topics include :
* An Overview Of The Sport
* How To Play The Game
*The Rules Of The Game
*The Scoring System
* etc.

Each session ends with a friendly bossaball showdown among the participants.

Bossaball is being featured at Singapore Management University Sports Union signature annual beach games carnival - The Waikiki 2008.

1 March 2008 I 10am - 6 pm I Tanjung Beach, Sentosa Island

Bossaball opens to the general public for a free “must try” session.
Other highlights include demonstration by the Bossaball Singapore Team and friendly bossaball competition for SMU Waikiki Challenge.
